Fool's coffee party at the GPR senior citizens' residence "Haus am Ostpark"

Colorful, cheerful and filled to the last seat: This is how the hall of the GPR senior citizens' residence "Haus am Ostpark" presented itself at this year's Närrischer Kreppelkaffee. On Saturday, January 24, at 3:11 p.m., the carnival hustle and bustle began - and created the best carnival atmosphere for residents, guests and staff.

A special highlight this year was the Ladies’ Committee—comprising Linda Wagner, Sandra Krause, Rosemarie Dolstra, and Sabine Weyrauch—which made its debut in a new outfit. Linda Wagner served as the emcee for the program. The team from the senior residence had organized the entire program on their own—with great success.

The Ladies’ Committee’s entrance to the “Narrhallamarsch” set an atmospheric tone right from the start: confetti cannons transformed the hall into a colorful sea, much to the delight of everyone present. In keeping with the spirit of the occasion, all the staff members had dressed up and celebrated the carnival fever together with the guests.

A varied stage program was provided by numerous dance groups, including the Middle Dance Guard of the Bauschheim Carnival Guild, trained by Doreen Brabänder, several formations from the Astheim Carnival Committee, and the Minis of the Raunheim Carnival Club. Sascha Brabänder, as Roberto Blanco from the Bauschheim Carnival Guild, also thrilled the audience. He created special moments and prompted many encores with the evergreen “Ein bisschen Spaß muss sein!”—the enthusiasm in the hall was palpable. The afternoon was accompanied musically by Robert Hößbacher, who created a thoroughly successful atmosphere with his keyboard and lively music.

Another highlight was the visit of the prince and princess couples: The young prince and princess couple from Astheim, Mariella I and Luca I, as well as the prince and princess couple from the Kreissparkasse Groß-Gerau Carnival Society, Thomas I and Claudia III, accompanied by Karl Norbert and Elke Merz, gave humorous and heartfelt speeches. Both couples contributed significantly to the festive mood.

All participants in the program received the GPR medal as a token of appreciation. The youngest dancers were not forgotten either: they were treated to candy and face painting.

The hall was completely full; residents of the assisted living facility were also invited. Particularly touching: Some long-time carnival enthusiasts currently live in the senior residence—for them, the Kreppelkaffee was an emotional highlight that they visibly enjoyed.

With many smiling faces, applause, and festive cheer, a thoroughly successful Carnival afternoon came to a close—one that will be remembered for a long time to come.
