Section for Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery
GPR Klinikum has expanded its range of treatments and has been offering plastic surgery and hand surgery since April 2021. Dr. Oliver Bleiziffer serves as the attending physician and heads the new department at GPR Klinikum.
Consultations take place at the GPR Clinic and at two GPR medical practices:
- Groß-Gerau (Frankfurter Straße 19-21): Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Raunheim (Am Stadtzentrum 3): Fridays
- GPR Clinic: by appointment
Many people primarily associate plastic surgery with “cosmetic surgery.” However, the work of a plastic surgeon is much more diverse and encompasses more than just the field of aesthetic surgery.
Reconstructive plastic surgery aims to restore form and function following injuries, tumors, burns, and chronic wounds. In many cases, microsurgical techniques using an operating microscope are employed, which also allow for free tissue grafting to distant parts of the body. These procedures can, for example, enable the preservation of limbs following severe accidents or be used for breast reconstruction after breast cancer.

Reconstructive surgery for pressure ulcers and chronic wounds, e.g., diabetic foot
Treatments and surgeries can also be performed collaboratively on an interdisciplinary basis at any time, as there is close cooperation with other departments at the hospital, including the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the surgical departments.
