Operations

Surgeries are performed in accordance with current guidelines and the recommendations of national (CAEK/DGAV) and international professional associations.

At our clinic’s Center for Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery, the use of state-of-the-art technology is a given:

The use of special magnifying glasseswith LED lighting provides the surgeon with optimal visibility of the surgical field, allowing sensitive structures such as the parathyroid glands and vocal cord nerves to be carefully visualized and preserved.

During the operation, the function of the vocal cord nerve is monitored not just sporadically, but continuously (continuous neuromonitoring) to detect any strain on the nerve in a timely manner.

Dissection is performed using modern ultrasonic scissors, which allow for a smaller surgical incision, gentle tissue dissection, and secure closure of the blood vessels supplying the thyroid gland.

A cosmetically pleasing result is achieved through the use of gentle suturing techniques for skin closure, employing self-dissolving sutures, thereby eliminating the need for skin suture removal.

In this way, the surgery is performed safely, with very few complications, and with minimal stress on the patient.
