GPR senior citizens' residence "Haus am Ostpark"
The GPR Senior Residence bears the name “Haus am Ostpark” because it is located directly adjacent to the woods of Rüsselsheim’s Ostpark. It thus offers an excellent location, combining the tranquility of a relaxing natural setting with ideal transportation access and a high standard of living.
The GPR Senior Residence “Haus am Ostpark” is a facility providing full-time inpatient long-term and short-term care with a total of 188 beds.
It also offers 42 assisted living apartments, 13 of which are designed for two people each.
Living

Our facility is fully accessible throughout. To help you find your way around quickly and easily, the individual residential communities and living areas have been named after regions of Hesse. We offer a home-like living environment in ten residential communities. Each community consists of 12 private rooms and a very inviting and spacious kitchen-dining area. The rooms offer state-of-the-art living comfort. They are equipped with electrically height-adjustable beds, and the spacious shower rooms are accessible. Throughout the building, there are cozy sitting areas that invite residents to play games or chat together.
Care

With us, you will receive professional, expert, and compassionate care. We offer a full range of care services for all care levels as defined by the Long-Term Care Insurance Act. This also includes treatments prescribed by your doctor, provided they can be administered at the senior residence. We are pleased to offer you a long-term care placement in one of our residential communities or in our general care units. We expand our services to include short-term, respite, and vacation care. The care and support of people with dementia is a key focus of our work. Our care is grounded in the individuality of each person and a commitment to addressing their specific needs.
Meals

Meals are largely prepared by the on-site staff, for example within the residential communities. Residents are welcome to assist as they see fit. The varied menu is developed in the residential communities together with the residents, taking their individual preferences into account. In our facility’s bistro, we offer a choice of two lunch menus every day during the week.
Social services and activity groups

The social services department offers, among other things, counseling and support for residents. To maintain and promote their quality of life and independence, our staff members offer creative groups several times a week. Twice a week, you are invited to join the house choir’s rehearsals, as singing is known to have undeniable health benefits. To support your physical and mental well-being, we offer weekly memory training, exercise classes, yoga for seniors, and relaxation and breathing exercises.
Service

Senior Café
Every first Monday of the month at 3:00 p.m., you are invited to the Senior Citizens’ Café, which offers interesting topics presented through films and lectures, accompanied by coffee, tea, and cake.
Dance Tea
If you enjoy dancing, you’re invited to the dance tea every third Thursday of the month at 3 p.m.
Excursions
The annual excursion program includes day trips to nearby and more distant destinations. Boat tours, visits to zoos and parks, and much more are on the agenda. Traditionally, we visit one of the beautiful Christmas markets in our region at the end of the year.
Celebrations
In addition, seasonal celebrations such as the Summer Festival and Oktoberfest, as well as an Advent market—held as joint events with visitors at our facility—take place.
Different life situations
In addition to our residential communities, we offer
- living groups tailored to the specific needs of people with dementia
- living areas where we provide care and support for people who require significant or very significant care
- a residential community with a protective environment.
This is home to residents who have a strong need for physical activity. To protect these individuals while also meeting their specific needs, they have access to a large garden area where they are safe.
This area is specifically designed for people withsevere dementia whose care and support can no longer be adequately provided in a home setting. We would be happy to provide you with personalized advice regarding this service.
Assisted living

Our assisted living program allows you to maintain the greatest possible independence, combined with a wide range of services, and provides support and assistance when needed. All apartments are equipped with a 24-hour emergency call system. All apartments face south and feature a balcony with a sun awning. The one- and two-person apartments are barrier-free, making them well-suited for wheelchair users. In total, we offer 29 one-person apartments (47 sqm) and 13 two-person apartments (57 sqm).
Quality management
A quality management system has been established at the GPR senior living facility “Haus am Ostpark” to consistently meet ever-rising quality standards and to guarantee residents transparent, high-quality care and support.

Friends of the GPR senior citizens' residence "Haus am Ostpark" Rüsselsheim e. V.

The founding of the “Friends of the GPR Senior Residence ‘Haus am Ostpark’ Rüsselsheim e. V.” established an official framework to support additional social, cultural, and therapeutic programs for the residents of the senior residence and to promote new, innovative ideas in elder care.
The association aims to provide assistance to further improve the quality of life for the residents of the GPR Senior Residence “Haus am Ostpark” beyond the services currently offered. This is to be achieved in particular through support for supplementary care and enrichment programs, as well as through assistance with transportation and events that foster social interaction and meet cultural needs.
The association operates on a non-profit basis; it does not pursue any commercial objectives. The members of the association’s governing bodies work on a volunteer basis, and the association’s members do not receive any payments from the association’s funds.
