Antje van Klev was born on August 1, 1961, in Offenbach am Main. She completed her nursing training from 1978 to 1981 at the nursing school of the Dreieich Hospital in Langen. She then gained professional experience from 1981 to 1986, first at the University Medical Center Mainz and subsequently at a private practice in Mörfelden.
In 1986, Antje van Klev joined what was then the Rüsselsheim City Hospital. There, she worked as a nurse in the interdisciplinary department of cardiology, gastroenterology, and surgery. She took on responsibility early on: From 1988 to 1989, she served as deputy ward nurse before transferring to the Department of Internal Medicine/Gastroenterology in 1989.
Alongside her nursing duties, Antje van Klev was deeply involved in representing employees’ interests. She served on the staff council starting in 1988, working part-time from 1992 and later on a full-time basis. From 1992 to 2006, she served as a full-time staff council member and, following the founding of the GPR Health and Care Center Rüsselsheim, as a full-time works council member. From 2006 to 2013, she held the position of works council chairperson and played a decisive role in shaping the institution’s co-determination efforts during this time.
In 2013, she moved to the nursing administration of the GPR Clinic. On January 1, 2014, Antje van Klev assumed the position of Deputy Director of Nursing. In this role, she contributed her many years of experience, her comprehensive knowledge of organizational structures, and her high level of social competence to the strategic development of nursing care.
From July 1, 2016, until her departure, Antje van Klev served as an advisor to the executive board in the Corporate Development department. In this role as well, she made an important contribution to the further development of the GPR Clinic and supported key change and development processes within the organization.
Her active service at GPR Klinikum will end on January 31, 2026, and she will retire on February 1, 2026. As she departs, Antje van Klev looks back on a professional career marked by continuity, loyalty, and great personal dedication.
“Antje van Klev has helped shape the GPR Clinic over decades in a wide variety of roles. Her professional career stands for great professional competence, a strong sense of responsibility, and a deep understanding of the needs of the staff,” emphasizes GPR Managing Director Achim Neyer. “Through her dedication—whether in nursing, in advocacy, or most recently in corporate development—she has made a lasting contribution to the positive growth of our institution. We are deeply grateful to her for this.”
GPR Klinikum thanks Antje van Klev for her decades of dedication and her loyalty to the hospital. The hospital wishes her all the best, good health, and many fulfilling moments in this new chapter of her life.
