Girls' and Boys' Day at the GPR Clinic: promoting young talent in practice

Once again this year, the GPR Health and Care Center Rüsselsheim took part in the nationwide Girls' and Boys' Day, the career orientation day for school pupils. A total of 47 children aged between 12 and 17 took the opportunity to find out about the wide range of careers in a hospital. After a warm welcome and a comprehensive briefing on data protection and hand hygiene in the hospital, the participants were divided into groups and guided through various areas of the GPR Clinic. The aim was to give them a practical insight into the different areas of work at the hospital.

A particular highlight was the visit to the radiology department, where the young people gained an insight into modern imaging techniques and their importance for medical diagnostics. The participants received valuable information during a CPR course. Here, the children learned CPR techniques in a specialized training session and were able to immediately put what they had learned into practice on a training manikin. The clinical instructors at the GPR Clinic clearly explained the role and responsibilities of nursing. They guide trainees and new employees through their practical training and support them on their path to certification. This gave the young people insights into career prospects in the healthcare sector.

Achim Neyer, Managing Director of the GPR Health and Care Center in Rüsselsheim, was delighted by the high level of interest: “Given this fantastic response, we will once again offer spots for Girls’ and Boys’ Day next year. We hope that this initiative has inspired some young people to pursue the many careers in the medical field. With its diverse training opportunities, the GPR offers exciting career prospects for young people looking for an apprenticeship.”
