The New Year's baby is here!

On January 1, 2026 at 7:30 a.m., the first baby was born at the GPR Klinikum Rüsselsheim. The little boy Noyan measures 54 cm in length and weighs 3,445 grams.

For Yasemin Tunca, a young mother from Ginsheim-Gustavsburg, this is her second baby. Father Hakan is visibly proud and is already looking forward to taking his wife and newborn home.
Mayor Patrick Burghardt, resident physician Laura Pohl, pediatric nurse Lucile Ziegler, and GPR Managing Director Achim Neyer welcomed the new arrival on New Year’s Day and congratulated the proud parents. The young mother was presented with a bouquet of flowers along with best wishes from Mayor Patrick Burghardt. Managing Director Achim Neyer also congratulated her with a baby sleeping bag, and for little Noyan, there was the GPR mascot “Paulchen Rüssel” as a future playmate. Along with the gifts, the city of Rüsselsheim and the GPR Clinic immediately expressed their best wishes for the newborn and the family.
“The team at the Women’s Clinic led by Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Eric Steiner does outstanding work. In total, 905 births took place at the GPR Clinic last year in the safe and secure atmosphere of the GPR Clinic’s delivery room,” said Managing Director Achim Neyer.
Safety standards surrounding childbirth at the GPR are exceptionally high, as evidenced in particular by the fact that the delivery room, neonatal unit, and maternity ward are located practically side by side. In addition, the Mother-Child Center meets the requirements of a perinatal center of excellence for optimal neonatal care. In the event of unforeseen complications, the GPR Clinic can ensure the greatest possible safety for mother and child. Thanks to the perinatal center with an attached intensive care unit, it is possible to ensure close and competent monitoring and care for both mothers during high-risk pregnancies and newborns. The GPR Clinic provides safe care for premature infants with a birth weight of 1,500 grams or more, or those born after the 32nd week of pregnancy.
“This setting is a true unique selling point and is otherwise found only in larger hospitals providing maximum care. Here, however, the atmosphere is simply much more family-oriented than in the larger hospitals, and the distance for people in the region is short,” Managing Director Achim Neyer continued.
