Invitation to the Patient Education Program for Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis at GPR Klinikum

The GPR Clinic cordially invites you to its new series of events, “Patient Education for Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis.” The patient education sessions will take place twice a month on Mondays at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the GPR Clinic and are open to both patients and interested individuals from outside the clinic. Due to limited space, advance registration is required by phone (weekdays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 06142 88-4590) or by email (gelenkersatz@gp-ruesselsheim.de).

At the patient education program, the Orthopedic Clinic provides comprehensive information about the Fast Track program, which has been successfully used for years to treat patients undergoing knee and hip replacement surgery. A key component is the active involvement of patients even before surgery. About ten days before the operation, patients attend the Patient Education Program to be thoroughly prepared for the upcoming procedure. There, they learn which tests will be performed, when and how they will begin moving around, and how they can actively contribute to their own recovery. This preventive approach not only promotes individual health literacy but also strengthens group dynamics among patients.
