Sociálna služba dopĺňa lekársku a ošetrovateľskú starostlivosť v nemocnici poskytovaním sociálnej pomoci pacientom a ich blízkym.
Na tento účel spolupracujú zamestnanci sociálnej služby so všetkými profesijnými skupinami v nemocnici, najmä s case manažérmi a externými partnermi.
